Description of StepHear:¶
Step-Hear is the new platform that allows blind and visually impaired people to receive an audio and vibration alert in the vicinity of a StepHear audio beacon. StepHear beacons can be installed in private and public locations. Upon receiving the warning signal via Bluetooth, the user presses one of the buttons to activate an audio beacon with location, service and navigation instructions allowing visually impaired people to navigate the world.
Step-Hear startup was founded in 2011 as a pioneer in accessible technology for audio orientation and guidance systems for visual impaired people, providing a solution also for other disabled people. IoT devices connected to the smartphone are an important part of this solution. The Step-hear Web. More than six years of successful implementation of the system- Step-Hear has placed more than 4,000 Audio-signs in Israel and worldwide. The Step-Hear app can be downloaded free of charge and has thousands of users.
